OK so just now I had flight 13 and 14 since my rebuild. Man does this thing go. BUT! After take-off everything WAS great then plane became very twitchy to any input. All corners were instant knife-edge sharp and corrections on horizontal flight were like small turns requiring instant corrections. I figured well maybe a little more wind than I expected up at flight altitude.
I lined up for a landing after about 15 minutes kind of herky jerky up and down. Felt as if I was getting hit with gusts of 20MPH. Landing went ok after I settled the plane down and frankly myself too .
Threw in second battery and had at it again. Same very twitchy plane. I was starting to wonder st this pint, I mean the last flights I have had were GREAT. I was thinking my sunglasses were causing me to see weird so I took them off. Had no noticeable effect, to think.......
OK landed second time even earlier maybe 12/13 minutes. Herky jerky bucking bronco. Got it down and investigated possible causes.
Anyone have a guess?
I was going to turn this into a trivia question sort of deal but I'll give you the answer now. After doing the rebuild I needed to add some weight. I added six 1/4 ounce self stick on weights to center out the COG. Anyhow 4 of the 6 fell off at some point. So now the COG is 1 ounce to Aft, I now know the difference and boy there is one. I did like the snappy fast knife edge corners but any wind or correction sent me reeling for the controls. I may try adding only 3/4 of the 1 ounce back and see what I think.
So how many of you had it guessed?
