Greetings All, I haven't seen this posted anywhere, so I thought I would mention that our plane actually exists! It is owned by a Larry Ciszak of Delevan NY. The following link shows pics of the plane with wheels, and with skis, plus the controls and the owner himself... sorry if this is old news to you all... www.supercub.org/photopost/showphoto.php?photo=10824&cat=681Tony

that is awesome. Does he have any relation to Hobby Zone? It is the EXACT same plane! They would of had to copy it off him.

Yeah, there's a writeup about all this somewhere. I can't find it. It was modeled after his plane.

While googling this evening I found your forum and lots of other posts regarding N3419P. All of which I was not aware of. I as well am found of Super Cubs. They are a very nostaglic and capable plane. My first ride in the Real N3419P was as a teenager in 1964. That is the year my father bought it and operated it off a 600' pasture at our family dairy farm. In 1976 I bought it from my father. "19P" is still flying and is hangered at the same strip (Detroit Sectional map- near Springville, NY, listed "Private-Restriced".) The strip is now much longer than the early years.
A few years ago I landed at Olean N.Y. just prior to an rc plane rally. I was approached by a guy with a surprised look on his face. He held up an rc magazine and showed me the pic of the Hobby Zone model . .with a familiar "N" number. That is the first I learned that Hobby Zone decided to use that "N" number. Since, and to this day I have never been contacted by them. You would think out of courtesy I would at leat gotten a "heads" up, "hey . .we are going to start a line of rc Super Cub models and use your number. Regardless, if you folks have half the fun I have had over the years with your "19P", you will be a happy flyer. From reading about flying the rc, you have a similar smile during and after each flight.
Maybe Hobby Zone would be interested in a photo op for future promos with theirs next to the real "bird". If so . . I may need an agent. Ha . . Ha.
Have fun . . . and like all taildraggers . . ."just keep it strait . . and mosts things work fine". Larry Ciszak

Well now, don't that beat all! Glad you posted, Larry, and I do hope that Hobby Zone shows you the courtesy of at least some recognition of your airplane.
And yes, I'm sure that most of us get a smile when our models fly properly.
Best regards!

Welcome to our little club Larry. Thanks for being so gracious.
I'm surprised that a person such as yourself would bother with something like this.
Yes we do love our Supercubs, I can only hope that the full size model flies as well as our tiny ones. Mine is one of the few things that do make me smile.
It's pretty shameful that Hobbyzone doesn't acknowledge the original planes they model from, but I doubt it ever crossed their minds.
I think a petition is in order. I know Hobbyzone reps hang out at RCGroups. I think a free model to the owners of the originals, along with a mention on the website would be the least they could do.
Once again, Larry, Welcome.

Great to see you on board Larry! What would be, I'm sure, a great thrill to all the guys, and gals?? on here, would be if you could post one or two pics of the original? I agree the Hobbyzone should mention in the planes description whether or not the plane is based on an original, and at least try to give some background on the model. Maybe I should ask local musician, Dave Carroll, if he could do a video on "Hobbyzone steals tail numbers"? United sure is feeling the pinch!! ;D
