hi all i got my SC alittle while ago and haven't got to take up to the sky yet, its winter here in the great white north so I'm worried about doing my maiden flight with snow on the ground,my question is I've been reading up on the cub in forums...... cough (rcunivese)....caugh..lol and i hear that ACT is not what its all cracked up to be,(I got clearveiwrc sim and the e-sky radio, which i must say is very good for the price),and am pretty good i can fly around with ease and land with no problem and even do barrel rolls, i set the radio to have no aileron, just throttle on the left stick and rudder\elevator on the right stick, so my main question is should i have ACT on or off for my maiden flight,i know that it say that altitude is your Friend for the ACT around 200ft but i wound like to know of any good\bad experiences with maiden flights with the ACT on or off

I would say that if you don't have any real R/C flying experience, then find a large area and enable ACT the first time at least, maybe doing a few wide circles and trying some touch and goes. Even though you may have done well on the simulator, it can get confusing a bit the first time out with the plane coming at you and going away. If you are going to attempt to fly it in the snow (I would think ok), then maybe disable ACT as the bright reflection off the snow may confuse the ACT anyways. I'm really enjoying mine, although I nearly lost it in a tree last week. If you have not made the suggested strengthening mods to the plane yet, I would do that now while you are waiting for weather. (ie. glueing in battery compartment, taping wing tips and outer leading edges, reinforcing the tail part of fuse, reinforcing wing to fuse mating surfaces, taping engine cowl. These are all well known weak spots on the cub.) Cheers, dave mc

yeah i think thats the plan,i got the leading edges taped up,and im going to glue the battery boxand another thing i read was to put something between the wing and the fuse,im also getting bigger tires 2,3\4'' on the main and 1'' and finally im going to cover the intire plane with packing tape after i do a nice airbrush paint job
