Hey everone,
I think I already know the answer to this question but here goes. If you put a brushless motor in then the x-port no longer works because you trash the black box reciever thingy right?

Yep All the stock guts have to be taken out. I am seriously considering getting another Cub without all the electronics and TX for the brushless set up. I like my stock set up.

Here is my problem. I sell corn and soybean seed. I would like to take picutures of my customers and my fields during the summer. My camera is working great using the x-port but I also want to get up and down FAST during the summer when time is tight. I guess my best option is to go with a lipo battery setup. I sure am dreaming of a 450 or 480 brushless setup thou Ok heres the deal....you guys with the brushless setups when you post the videos slow them down to about half speed so they don't look so tempting.

The plane will fly much better with the 11.1 lipo. Longer flights too. Brushless would be awesome. Start with the lipo in your current plane. While you continue to enjoy it. Buy a wing, fuse and tail and built a new plane into a brushless set up. that was you are not out the electronics in you SC and you have a back up plane for what you would spend to fix a bad crash. A 4 channel radio should come with all the servoes you need (unless you want micro servoes) and then you just need a motor and Speed control.
I have a PZ p-51 mustang that flew OK stock. I put a lipo in it. Flew very well and quick. I then put in a 450 Brushless. Was very fast. Not enough. I was advised against my next motor by the hobby shop and my common sence friends. I put in a brushless 10, this thing is very controllable but to fast for words. Wide open is scary to say the least. This plane is probrably breaking the 100mph barrier. For a small plane that is to fast. My buddy was flying a p-51 with a 91 gas motor in it and I would blow by him like he was on crutches. My point is. YOU COULD FLY THIS PLANE. It will only fly as fast as you want it to. at 1/4 throttle it flys slow and floats in the air. You don't fly the SC wide open now so a brushless motor will be no different other than you have power in reserve.
