People have asked for pics of my flap setup, so here it is - I haven't had a chance to take the wing off as I've been flying it as much as I can - but now it is in retirement for awhile as I have a 185 Used HXT500 servo - but might change this to HXT900 T-28 Trojan steering arm and the Cub

Finally dude! That's an awesome setup! It seems like the only possible problem would ever be the servo.
I do believe however that when a linkage is stronger than the servo that drives it, when(if) the servo fails, builder error can only be blamed a little.(not saying yous will fail, it looks pretty solid).
Now, if you don't mind, I will do something similar; and if you do mind, I will build it anyway because it is a pretty foolproof setup.
I say that we need awards on this sight, maybe once every three or six months, for things like best flap setup, ailerons, wheels, scale appearance, etc...

What sort of control horn is that, the one connecting to the torque rod?
Did the T-28 steering arm come with that connector that goes onto the servo arm? It looks much more secure than a Z-bend.
Oh, and how does the end of the rod connect to the flaps? Epoxy, tape?

here is one picture of my simmilar flaps setup. mine is attatched to the flap with a combination of gorilla glue, tape, and monokote. it's definately not as sophistic8ted, but it works like a charm

I take it that the wood around the servo and on the underside of the wing is to keep the wing straight when its bolted into the fuse? Does the bolt go all the way through the fuse or is the nut fitted inside the fuse? Any close up pics of the wing bolt and nut would be great.
Nice clean flaps set up!

Thanks helikiwi, all becomes clear. Do you know where the part the bolt screws into comes from? Or was it custom made?
Many thanks, John

HekiKiwi, Do you notice a big difference using the flaps or is more for show? I ask because I want to add them also but want to make sure I will see a difference in landing and take off like the big brother real thing. I am running a simular set up with trexlers and brushless.
Thanks

the flaps slow the cub right down - like putting on the brakes - so I can have a steeper approach and control speed with the throttle better - and they look cool ;D

Thanks for the info. Truth be told, when I seen your SC I knew I had to have them along with the tires because it does look gooood!!!. Living in Alaska and flying in the real deal all the time gives me motivation to have a true replica with lots of detail. Yours has it. Another question, when you drop your flaps is the nose pitch up extreme or easilymanaged with a little down elevator.

I've mixed 12% down elevator at halve flaps and 15% at full - easily managed without mixing as well
