Great site, but depressing. Won't be flying for quite a few days :-(

Okay dudes here is the shnizzle. I wrote down the 4 wind values at 6pm the preceding day and then we monitored (very closely) the wind speed and direction all day on our precision mobile field weather station, provided by Bombardier. The wind directions tracked almost on the dot maybe an hour behind the predicted. The wind speeds were averaging about 2 KTS below predicted. This is at a site, Blytheville Arkansas, which I would consider remote at best. I have also done comparisons at home with my own WX station and found really accurate prediction to actual data. If you are wondering if tomorrow will be a good flying day I recommend the site link in post #1. Andy

Hello dudes, The wind exceeded the predicted by 7 kts today but direction was true to a tea. -3 deg C and 20 kts of wind is a pain in the cheeks. Why do they call Northern Arkansas the SOUTH? Andy

Iv'e been using this airnet site for the last couple years. I look at it every day do see what the wind will be for the next couple days. I fly hobbyzone and parkzone planes and just got my SC. If it looks like a calm morning I plan to get up and be out flying at the break of dawn when it is usually the calmest. Most of my flying is done early morning when it is calm, it is especially nice for flying with floats.

If I used any of the weather sites I would still have to wait until the time comes to fly. Where I live between 2 of the worlds largest inland lakes (Lake Michigan & Lake Superior) the weather is changing every 5 minutes. Right now it is a blizzard but five minutes ago it was sunny and nice out..........can't wait for the next 5 minutes to go by...lol.

Started snowing today in the morning and just started coming down pretty hard at noon. Ended up getting out of school early because they feared cars would be blocked in the lot. (im in high school) no flying for a loooong time.

Is that a drift or is there something under that mound? Looks like it will give you more time to build.

I hear you mr m. That's what it's like here in New England.Like Mark Twains Quote " if you don't like the weather in New England wait a minute" yesterday it was 45* no wind. Today it looked like your pic's and I was out plowing at 5 am.Tomorrow back up in the 40's and the forecast for Mon. is back in the 20's.
