third flight on a new cub and as i'm landing the throttle stuck wide open and would not come down...i was forced to just fly out the battery...so of course when i got it down the main board was fried...but i just called horizon hobby and they are sending me a new one no questions asked...thats the tip...has anyone had this happen to them yet p.s i hope the motor isn't fried as well...

The motor won't be fried-hard to hurt those things that way (crashes are different).
Failure rate on the 'black box' has been high(er)since they went to lipo. They did NOT redesign the ESC/BEC to handle the increase in volts/amps and it was already close to the limit. With lipo some units are PAST the limit. Consistent with HZ behavior in the past, I predict they will replace faulty units and not fix the basic problem.
I have NO IDEA how they can continue to recommend the old stock 10x8 for floats. Seems like a guaranteed melt down to me.

Just checking out my thought process, so are you saying that the stock prop would be more appropriate for use with the floats? It is sort of funny, as I was just thinking about asking that very same question on the board today, as I had seen someone mention the use of a larger prop with floats. I don't recall if I saw that on the instructions or instructional videos about floats, but I know I heard it somewhere. Thanks.
