Hi, Just wanted to say hello and thanks. I got my first RC plane a couple of weeks ago. Yup, it a SC. I got it as BNF with an DX6i. First flight ended after the third crash. It's been raining or windy every day since. I've been using several tips found here to perform repairs. So... Thanks for sharing your experiences. CJ

Welcome aboard cjay. Eventually I'll be upgrading to a DX6i. Once I save up enough money.

Welcome to the Club C. If its' SC related, you'll find it here. Great folks with lots of experience. You chose a great plane to help you through your learning curve. Funny how we all keep one in our hanger long after we have learned to rc fly.

Hello in Roseburg from Bend. I too just joined, and have an HZ SC on the way, hopefully it will be here Monday.
I have a PZ J-3 Cub I picked up a couple weeks ago, but just couldn't get the nerve to fly it before I get a little time on the SC.
This is a great forum. Tons of knowledge to be found.
Do you have a good LHS in Rsbg? The Eugene Toy and Hobby is a great shop, but haven't been in there for a few years. We only have one shop locally here in Bend, but they are great people, so one is enough...

Hi Pipercubman, Only one LHS here in Roseburg. I just completed a new workbench in the garage. I have also begun several mods of my SC, with the goal of better crash survivability. And, I want it to look fantastic just before it's one point landing. LOL. CJ

That will make it nice having a workbench to use. I built a really nice one in the garage of our old house that was about 10 feet long. I thought about taking it apart and rebuilding it in the new garage, but got so preoccupied with the moving, I forgot about it...
I'd like to see pics of your project when you get it done.
I thought my SC would be here today, but no... As long as it makes it before the weekend, because I really want to fly next weekend with my son

That's funny. I too just finished building a new workbench. When I was beginning my mods on the SC I just didn't have enough room out in the garage for working on stuff. So the SC has taken a side seat until the garage is fixed up.

Immediately after my first flying event, I realized repairs to my SC would be necessary. This was followed by more reality... I didn't have a place to actually do the repairs. The dining room table was out of the question and the 12" shelf in the garage was just not going to do. So, with the help from my neighbor and a couple of trips to Lowes, here's what I came up with.

Nice and clean. It needs a Hooters or Sports Illustrated Calender.
