Actually, I've been looking at the Hobbyking SS ESCs. All the reviews are positive, they're apparently the same as the turnigy plush. I'm thinking i'll get the motor from headsuprc, and everything else from Hobbyking.
I'll probably do ailerons, and cover it too. I can get the covering from my LHS, but I'm trying to plan ahead what I might need for the ailerons. Little pushrods and some control horns come to mind. Is it best to just use stock parts for that? I know the push rods can easily be cut down, and just have a Z-bend put back in them.

Hmm just watch out, according to the reviews the 3amp stated BEC might actually be 2amp, so if you're using 4 servos it might not be enough! The Mystery has more programming options, but you probably won't need it. Maybe invest in one of these puppies: hobbyking.com/hobbyking/store/uh_viewItem.asp?idProduct=10313&Product_Name=Turnigy_5A_%288-40v%29_SBEC_for_Lipo_The 40amp Mystery has a 3amp SBEC which is why I went for that one for my 4 servo plane. You might need some servo extensions as well, depending on where you mount the servos. Also, have a look at the HXT900 and HXT500 servos on hobbyking, they are super cheap! Personally I would get push rods and control horns from the LHS because what you see is what you get, plus they are cheap parts. But yeah, I enjoy shopping online so much more

Variable reviews on anything 'Mystery'. No personal experience.

If I'm using 4 servos, i'll be getting a UBEC. I'm not risking loosing ANOTHER plane! Thanks for the tip on the servo extension wire, I didn't think of that one.
