Broken wing struts - temp fix

I had a nasty looking crash the other day (wind was too much, my fault). The only carnage was one wing strut hook broke off. I ordered new struts from hobbyzone.com, but tomorrow is supposed to be such a nice day, I can't wait to go fly my SC. So I cut the two struts off, and drilled a hole. The only string I had was pink (for laying out fencing and such). For now, it will do nicely until my stock ones arrive. BTW, loving the velcro mod here, it's worked perfectly for me.

I got totally sick of the stock struts, I use fishing line, and connect the struts from each wing together with a paper clip, I think belem was the first one to come up with the paper clip idea. With the paper clip it's much more crash resistant, doesn't put any strain on the battery box, and if they do happen to break they're very easily replaced.

I am new but I love the forum already!! I have read so many things in here that I would have benefited from in the past. I saw the post about wing struts. I used steel fishing leader for mine and they work great. Havent had a break since I put them on. Got very tired of buying the stock plastic ones.

I hadn't read that till now. Sorry about the plane but deff funny. I would have had to just go buy a new one and let the wife beat the crap outa me...much easier. ;D
