Hi all! I recently purchased a Super Cub LP with some of the refund from Uncle Sam. I had an RC glider when I was like 8, that ended up breaking, and never getting fixed. When I was 13, I had a power glider, but crashed really bad on it's maiden flight, and was never fixed either. I attribute the broken planes to not knowing much about foam repair, and never making time to find out (We didn't have the internet back then like we do today).
Some background, I am a licensed pilot, with a commercial license, Multi-engine, Land aircraft. I was a flight instructor for about a year until life happened (twins on the way) and had to find a more stable, producing job. I joined the Air Force in 2004, and am a Network Operations Tech at the Air Force Academy in Colorado Springs, CO. I haven't flown a plane since 2004, and I miss it terribly, but I just cant afford it now. Airplanes have always been a passion for me, and so naturally, so did RC Airplanes. I've flown my SC 3 times now, and it is a joy to fly. I looked around for a decent forum to join, and this one had the best experience, tips, and friendly atmosphere.
Anyways, just wanted to introduce myself, and say thanks to the awesome posts I have already read. Look forward to learning from each of you, and getting to know you.

Welcome Jeremiah. I had built a beautiful nitro trainer many moons ago(15 years or so) as well. Lost interest for sometime when "life" took over. It never seemed to go away. Wow, very impressive background! I have always wanted to learn to fly. I have ordered my SC. Can't wait for it to arrive.
Welcome aboard

I've always wanted to fly and was planning on joining the Air Force back after High School but slacked on that idea. I want to start school soon on the FAA's ATC program. The Cub and the hobby is the next best thing to full scale aviation. Welcome!

The Cub and the hobby is the next best thing to full scale aviation. And it's much cheaper, believe me!
