Getting a T-28 for hannukah tonight. Im super(cub) excited and cant wait till the maiden. Ive mastered the Supercub and am doing great with my Sukhoi and am ready to get back in the parkflyer category. Any tips on the maiden?

The T28 is an easy flyer. Just set up your dual rates and expo as recommended and resist the urge to fly like a bat out of hell or try a lot of aerobatics your first flight. It will be a lot faster than your cub at WOT but can be flown slowly. Only other thing I can think of is to give yourself more room on your landings. It comes in hotter than the cub and needs a longer runway.

Getting it for hannukah eh?
Have you seen Inglorious Basterds? You should name your plane "The Bear Jew". Sure to cast fear into the hearts of any WWII German warbirds in the general vicinity.

Ill show those messerschmitts who's boss! I got the T28 and boy its great. Going to fly today, but first getting a better charger. THe one thing im questioning is how visible the new air force trim scheme will be in the air. But on the ground, it looks great!

It's fine in clear skies. At dusk, or overcast skies I've lost orientation once or twice. Not a big deal as I'm usually up pretty high. I added some red stripes to the underwing, but can't really see them from too far away. Perhaps some orientation lights would help thru the dreary winter months.

Maiden today. Went to the flying field and there were a few experts with big nitro planes. I waited my turn and took her up. Im pretty sure I got a trojan made on a monday morning. 2 servos needed reversing (found this on the ground thank god) and the trim was horribly off. I took off and the plane started doing everything i told it not to do. The club president was watching and asked me if I wanted him to trim it out. It was so off that it took one guy to fly it, and one guy to move the trim switches on the Dx6i. Once it was trimmed he handed me the sticks and boy did it help. This plane is awesome. No doubt about it. Greased my first landing, which was probably my best landing ever, and then the second one was a little more bumpy. A big glow plane lost its motor 10 seconds after it took off and was pretty messed up, so about 10 people were running across the runway to assess the damage while my transmitter was beeping like a madman telling me the 10 minutes were up. So i had to cut power completely to land at the very base of the runway to avoid getting in someones way or hitting anybody. But in all, a great day of flying. I had a hard time with the orientation part of it. Today, it was very cloudy and rained at one point; the grey plane against the grey sky was a little confusing. But I live in Arizona, so most days there arent too many clouds, and if there are they're white. Lovin' my trojan!

Good job. It can be tough on cloudy days. Just keep it up high and the occasional loss of orientation won't be too much trouble.

Thanks, the supercub has taught me that altitude is a friend, not an enemy

Try the 3-bladed prop from the F-4U or the ME-109. They're not as fast but you get some more thrust. Then play with flapperons or spoilerons. Good times. I've added an ez-xport module to mine so I can fly combat or drop parachute guys.

Ive had so much fun with my T28, but now its time for more. Im planning on getting a 40 amp pro esc with either a power 10 or power 15. Then cutting in some flaps. This is when it gets fun
