This is my old cub on some new floats. Just after this was taken on takeoff a gust of wind caused the wing tip to drop and she rolled on her top. The wind was pretty strong so I got the plane back in just a minute. The next flight was less than a minute when the original motor gave out. I was not in position to get back to the water so I landed in a small patch of grass and there was no damage.

Are you running lipos with the 10x8 prop? Even though that prop is recommended for floats, it's also known for burning out motors and ESCs with lipos.

Yup, I swaped from the stock prop when I put the floats on it. makes sence the motor is 3 years old and never given a problem and two weeks after swapping props it poops out.
I am going to run a 10X6 slow fly prop with the 400.

VERY nice. I have a lake 3 meters from the apartment and can't wait to see the look on the neighbors' faces when I start flying off from it

How awesome would it be to take off and land on the lake from your own balcony? Regarding changing the prop, if you find the 10x6 doesn't have enough thrust to get airborne with the floats, GWS also do a 9x7 that might have enough push to get it up there.

Picked up the 10X7 tonight. I need to water proof my ESC before I fly again.

What are you waterproofing it with?
I rekon lots of glad-wrap / plastic-wrap wrapped around it would do the trick nicely, or maybe even a rubber balloon.
