I know I saw this somewhere on this forum, but I thought I would start a new thread to say how well it works. I took regular kite string and tied one end to where normally the hooks went. After getting the length to what looked to be good, i tied the other end to the other wing strut holder on the same side as the first. Unscrew the wing strut screw on the battery box 1 turn then loop it around once or twice. It is fairly strong (did a test flight with many loops and inverted flight) and makes the wing VERY easy to take off.

I think it's a good idea to hold the string on with some hooks such as those on fishing swivels/leaders that can pop off under pressure.
Otherwise it can do more damage if you crash.

Tried using fishing swivels and the clamped bit of metal on the loop end (that you push the hook end under) kept loosening up and sliding off. Don't know if it had to do with the cold and numb fingers. I finally settled on 80# kite string, looping the string thru the wing eyelets, around the X port tube and wrapping a strip of velcro (that secured the battery) around it. Anyway, the string will end up stretching a little but that just makes it easier to take the wing off.
