Has anybody ever tried landing in snow with floats instead of skis?

I don't see why it wouldn't work. You might scratch your floats up a bit tho.
There again I'm from South Australia, can't say I have much experience with snow!

It has been done, some claim it works well. I prefer the Dubro Parkflyer skis myself.

I'm using skis in the winter, but my buddy is using stock floats in all seasons. They work really well. We tried to see if we could put some wheels in them for asphalt landing. Unfortunately stock floats are hollow, and we have not come up with a way to mount wheels in them.

ive always found that the floats have a bad habit of really gripping the snow...but it could just be the heavy chicago wet stuff

We used floats all winter here in Alberta Canada with great success! Other guys were using plastic skis but they broke. The floats were perfect.
