:)hi all been looking at everyones hanger and getting hungry to move on from the cub. im looking for something that is easily available(UK) straight from box ready to fly if possible. non lipo. happy with nicad. fun fast to fly. landing gear but easy to hand launch too would be good. and something easy to repair and find parts for. basically the cub on steroids if poss. had the parkzone p51 but the launch and repairs needed made it no fun. thanks for any advise.

I'd reccomend the PZ Spitfire- if your into warbirds.... I have a PZ mustang and a spit as well as the cub... it is a little slower than the p51 and flys better at slower speeds... doesnt tip stall as bad as the mustang... just remember you will need a bigger field to fly in- the cub is great for small areas, but the spit will need a tad bit more room.
Im not sure about UK availability (other than what ive seen on the web from other posters...)
I have heard great things about the T-28 RTF- but I dont have one... plus its LIPO...
one suggestion- I started with the p51 then bought a cub AND FSONE... the FS ONE flight sim was the best purchase- the P51 had 2 flights with 2 crashes and about 1min 30 sec of flight time- and 70 usd in damage... after the FSONE I didnt have a single pilot error crash (a few equipment failure, which were defiately minimized by the skill i had obtained by the simulator...)
Oh- the spitfire has around 100 flights and i havent crashed once- matter of fact i only have a few scratches on the wind and a crack on the fuselage bottom from landing- im still flying with the original prop! Thats not to say i havent had a few close calls :-)
Have fun

Hi garvey. Change your mind about Lipos and you will have a cub on steroids. Whats your budget for the next plane?

The typhoon is a blast whether you like F3A maneuvers or 3D or just simple slow flying it can do it all. It is a good 3d trainer too. I love mine. Kevin

Hi again Garvey76, Long time since we spoke last, hope your well and still having fun. Reading you post, I think you should try LiPo's in your SuperCub before giving up on it, it really is like night and day, it makes the plane a lot more fun and it's as easy as soldering a few deans connectors on and buying the batteries. Like you, I wanted to fly something else and it all started with a scratch built PZ Stryker, after flying it I figured this was the best move up I could have made, it's very manouverable and it's quite fast, the downside is you need to hand launch it as it has no U/C. Since building one, I'm now flying a super tuned up version using Futaba 2.4ghz TX & RX FASST system, Mega brushless motor, 2200mah LiPo and an ESC to match. Top speed is around the 80 to 100 mph, it climbs verticle and handles amazing, in all, it is a dream to fly. You could buy a stock version here in the UK for just over £100 RTF and spare parts are readily available like the SuperCub, IMO, this is the best step up. I hope this helps and if you need any further info or advice, PM me. PS, I've also moved onto my first Helicopter, it's scary

HI cybersoft All well thanks, happy new year to you. thanks for input and advice. i was looking at the stryker but the hand launch put me off, just because of the bad times with the parkzone mustang. really think the lipo in the cub is the next best thing as im having so much fun with it. well done on the move to the copters, dosent realy interest me at the moment, but if you can get your vid cam on it that might be worth a look. happy flying

Hi Garvey You could try the PZ Spit if you don't mind the lack of landing gear. I found it for £99 at Brentford rc in West London: www.brentfordrc.co.uk/scripts/prodView.asp?idproduct=936It certainly is faster than the Cub and more aerobatic so it will give you the thrills you seek however it does fly much better than the P51 and is a generally better plane being the newest of the PZ WW2 warbirds. I did find it a challenge at first but as long as you launch it into the wind and level at full throttle she is no problem and glides for a landing with just a touch of throttle very well. Plus of course she has ailerons and is a different beast to fly. Most of all though the Spit does look stunning in the air. Low level flybys at speed still give me a buzz ;D good luck in your search Malcolm

T-28. That was my next step. Of course it was right, I did it :-)
Seriously, it would be a nice next step. With landing gear ROG and landings are piece of cake. Pretty acrobatic and fast enough it is a handful after the cub. Full 4 channel instead of the 3 channel many PZ warbirds are (I believe).

T-28 for me too. I was one of the unfortunate ones to get one with a faulty RX, but once I got that squared away it is a blast to fly.
