Hello from ninilchik alaska. I have just ordered my first plane a hz sc lp model. I am new to the rc world and have many questions. for now i am flying my sim and spending a lot of time reading. this stuff is addictive before you ever fly. the new cub is on the way i have ordered some things to get started, extra props, larger wheels, nice battery charger ect. My first real question is regarding batteries. what is the largest size bat that will fit in the cub. Have any of you done a mod to fit a 1800mah to 2200mah or are these bats to heavy and big. would like more flight time than the stock 1350mah. Or should a guy just stick to stock size. Your thoughts on this would be appreciated.
By the way cool site

Well first get to reading on the forum AND WELCOME!!!! I use 1550 and 1750 mah lipo's with no problems at all. the cub can handle alot of weight. I removed my batt box interior and then use velcro on the battery and on the "front" inside of the fuesalage and velcro the battery in vertically. I then double sided the Rx to the side of the fuesalage. My setup works great. Anyway need anymre tricks let us know Have fun!! Nice to meet you George P.S. I have been to Alaska i loved it! i'm a country boy anyway

Hi Shaun. welcome to the club. Like George mentioned, you will have no problem flying with the bigger lipos but you will have to mod the battery box. Personally I would just stick to the stock lipo. You are going to enjoy this great plane.

More mA, more weight, more flight time, more mass so will handle wind a bit better. Needs modification.
Smaller battery, less weight, more acrobatic and better flier in calm conditions.
I've gone full cycle: now I'm looking for lighter weight and better flying.
