Hi, I ordered a Super Cub prop over the internet and received it this morning. What I got was PKZ1005 which is 10x8, however the prop that came with the plane is a 9x6
Is this a problem?
Also I purchased GWS 10x6 props which someone recommend on the internet, but it does not fit. Any suggestions here.
It is a great day today, so looking to get flying this afternoon. So a quick response would be much appreciated.
Thanks A.

The 10x8 is what should have come with it. Use the 10x8 if your running a stock plane.

I think he has the LP/lipo version.
The 10x8 may be too large for that system. That is speculation. No one really knows if the electrics have been redesigned to take it.
Yes, the GWS needs to be drilled out to 4mm.

Yes, I have the Super Cup LP - it came with a 9x6.
I tried the 10x8 flying and it flew very well. I actually think it was much faster and more powerful. I like.
If the electrics have not been redesigned to take it.... what damage could I cause to the plane?
Thanks A.

Flying with a 10 X 8 prop on a stock motor with a Li Po battery can be done. You will burn up the motor quicker (at least that's the way I understand it) but not sure how much quicker and $11 for a new motor shouldn't be a big concern. Do get a 10 X 6 prop for the plane soon but until then, enjoy! In regards to getting the GWS to fit, drill out the prop hub if it's too small, but since the motor shaft from the SC is so small that may not solve the problem. In that case Id get an APC prop, they have small inserts that fit in the prop hub to center the prop on the motor shaft.

GWS 10x6 HD = 3mm shaft Cub = 4mm shaft
APCe 10x5 > same as GWS 10x6HD. Uses 'spacers' to fit the shaft and center it. Spacers should be used. Stock prop hole may NOT be centered.
