So last night my best friend and I went to a new area to try flying...it was a church or something off of a main road, with a decent parking lot and yard space, and not too many light poles. It was totally dark when we started flying, so it was a new experience. The planes did quite well, although the controls for mine seemed kind of slow to respond, and at times it sounded like the propeller was rubbing against something. Well the flights went well, but I was unable to make a good landing, each time pretty hard but just bent the gear a bit. However I did clip the back of my car with it upon final approach where I misjudged the plane's position and it flew into the deck. It ripped the gear out but didn't do any damage otherwise. On the last flight of the night I was taking off and had just got airborn when a gust of wind pushed the plane sideways, and I didn't have enough room, power, speed, or altitude to avoid the plane smacking nose first into the side of the car. No damage to the car, but the plane's firewall got pretty much totaled, and it managed to bend the shaft. Lucky for me I already had a new firewall waiting to be installed (the old one already was cracked) and a spare prop shaft. I also made an effort to get the tail to be perfectly centered again, so hopefully next time it'll respond better. Pics!

I can't count the times that I've had to replace the firewall. Need to figure out a quick clip for attaching the cowl to make it faster for repairs.

This one did pretty well, lasted over a year (its the original). That Epoxy 12 stuff works great!
