Keep in mind the controls rods cross inside the fuse and there is no good way to reverse that with stock electronics.

Keep in mind the controls rods cross inside the fuse and there is no good way to reverse that with stock electronics. You can just switch the control horns to the opposite sides of the control surfaces. I think you can even plug the servos into the opposite sockets on the Rx and get them to switch functions. You can also switch the servos' position on the fuselage AND unscrew the servo arms and screw them back on the other way. Am I right or am I missing something?

You can do those things. Might work. Play with it on the bench with the plane build in mind. That way you don't get a surprise.
I put my electronics on a slow stick and couldn't figure out a decent way to get the rods to route other than cross for that application. It was already built so I didn't want to do a lot of modification.
Some applications are a pain in terms of routing and limit your options.
