My Super Cub

[Intrepidation]

Hey guys, I thought I'd share with you some photos of my SuperCub. Until last week it was completely stock besides the 3M tape covering it and various replacement propellers:





However my best friend and I decided we like flying at dusk, so we decided to upgrade our SCs with our home build LED lighting system. Today I got new, larger wheels for it. Not only do they look so much better and more proportionate, but they greatly improve taxings, taking off, and landing on the grassy field we fly on.

This is the on/off switch for the lights, which are powered by a 9V battery. It fit perfectly where the expansion plug would go (I have it removed for now since I don't use it)



And here's the lights, the wings blink.

Besides the cowl, propeller, wheels, and LED system, this plane is all original, big thanks to the 3M tape for allowing the plane to survive hard landings and several crashes over the year and 2 months that I've owned it.

Man, that looks awesome! Great job! I find that flying at dusk is best here too, since it isn't so windy at that time. I can't wait to add lights to my Cub.

Thanks guys! I love flying at dusk because then I don't have to deal with sun glare. The LEDs help a lot vs the first time I flew at dusk. As long as I remember blue = right wing. Plus it looks totally awesome.

My SC is on the heavy side thanks to the tape and electronics (mainly the 9V battery I suspect), but since I like casually cruising at low altitude anyway it's not problem, although a possible motor upgrade might be in the future
