I know there are a ton of posts on this, but they are scattered throughout this site. Seems HobbyCity is the way to go. Looking to upgrade to ailerons and also lipos. Anyone suggest a good setup for the super cub? I remember seeing posts with cheap esc's and servos and I think they were all from Honbbycity. As well as a turnigy charger and zippy lipos....

Well I just put a order into hobbycity actually today
this is what everyone was either using or said to go with.
(2) Rhino 1550mAh 3S 11.1v 20C Lipoly Pack = $31.90 (1)Turnigy Accucel-6 50W 5A Balancer/Charger = $37.99 (20pc) (they are the same as deans connectors) T-Connectors 10 Pairs (20pc) = $6.55 I went with the faster EMS shipping my complete total with shipping came to 103.00 ruffly
You will need to use a smaller prop, a good one I am using right now, alot of the guys use is the GWS HD 10x6 (there orange)
Hope that help some George

That helps alot. Thank you. Are the Rhino batteries batter than the zippy's?

Also, would you say get the brushless motor and brushless esc, or just get the esc? Money is an object, just not sure if the stock motor can handle the lipos.

Up to you, you are going to see a big difference in just running lipos. The stock cub can handle the lipo's. I think you will be happy with just the lipos, and a smaller prop. (ex. GWS 10x6) (happy for awhile anyway)
I think it is preference and name brand differences between the zippy's and rhinos. I like the rhino's price. 15.00 a battery.
My next upgrade is a futaba 6ex or exa radio system. Then will look into PNP (plug and play) airplane I think. Which I will hopefully be able to use these rino batteries with as well.
Other mods to do to the cub (I have done these) reinforce cowl and plane wing with packing tape, popsicle stick battery box reinforcement, triangle piece on fusesalage reinforment, 2.75" wheels, 1" tail wheel. Use fishing clips, to connect struts to fuesalagei nstead of screwing them to the fusesalage.
Search function is a members best friend.

the stock motor will be fine as long as you prop down, or fly very conservatively, but that's hard lol.
rhino's are zippys batts, just a differnt "brand". i have a few of the 2150 20c that i have abused them quite a bit in my brushless car that is pulling 80 amp burst and they are still a-ok. i also use them in a few planes and they have been great, especially for $17.
hobby city does have alot of good stuff, the reviews are some what helpful, but take them with a grain of salt, not everyone on there is a genius and alot of idiot operator errors are posted as product failures.
hobbycity shipping is either really fast or really slow. the registered air takes about 1-1.5 weeks normally to get to the usa, but ems on the other hand has made it to my door in 3 day. so the extra few dollars may be worth it depending on how impatient you are.

Make sure you lipo's are 3S not 2's, 2's will not work.
