My son plugged in a Hobbyzone Sonic Combat Module into his stock SC. The motor immediately fired up @ full speed! At the time i had my SC up in the air so could not help. He removed the module but still the motor was @ full speed. I shout 'remove the battery' but he panics & just holds it at arms length. I bring my SC down, go over to his & remove the battery. There is a strong smell of burning! We leave it for 10 mins & try it again - servos work but now no motor movement - fried ESC! We go home & i take it apart & find... The main MOSFET transistor is missing! I find it eventually melted into the fuselage! I managed to source one - its a FDP6670AL - MOSFET. uk.farnell.com/jsp/search/productdetail.jsp?SKU=1467978I replaced it & the SC is back up & running! I also checked the module & that appears to work ok, im guessing my son forced the module x-port connector in the wrong way round.

Wow. Thats pretty intense Do you think that exploded out of the rx/esc or dropped out? Anyhow, good job on the repair.

Yea, the MOSFET was dead short so it had cooked itself to the point of melting the solder & just fell out of the circuit board. As always better to have this happen on the ground than in the air.
