I today picked up the E-Flite Apprentice. I enjoyed the Super Cub as my first introduction to R/C flight and further enjoyed it with a conversion to the Park 450 BL. As luck would have it as soon as I got my Super Cub to where I wanted it my brother had a flight mishap and destroyed my plane. Anyhow rather than buy a new fuselage/wing and rebuild I eyed the Apprentice and today got it. The plane's need of assembly was very similar to the stock Super Cub 'build' and was generally unexceptional and a snap. The Apprentice's size is quite a bit bigger than the Super Cub and with the E-Flite size 15 BL already installed it should be a hoot to fly. This will be my first plane with Ailerons and also my first experience with the 2.4GHZ technology with the Spectrum radio that was delivered with the plane. Also my first experience with LIPO's so it in some ways will be a bunch of new firsts as when I first got my Super Cub a couple years ago. I hope to maiden soon and will keep you posted.... Wayne

Yeah, I've been eying the e flite Apprentice every time I go into my LHS. It seems to have similar characteristics of the Super Cub except the Apprentice has ailerons, no wing dihedral, those oversized wing tips and is "beefier" overall. Would appreciate your assesment of the plane, looks like a winner.

I have only flown it once, windy and not a plane friendly site so I didn't get a good feel for it.
Hopefully this weekend the weather will cooperate and I can get some time under the wings and see how the Apprentice goes. I will post a follow-up in my review of the plane, I have a post already started about my experience so far.
I would agree Pat it did on initial takeoff feel quite like thee SC. More later.
