I love to hate this plane. It is my favorite warbird of all time and this one os a bugger to fly. I now have mastered it but it took a while to do so....like 3 planes wrecked to get good enough to land and get my plane back in one piece. I have upgraded this one to bl with the Eflite SIX series motor 2000kv to be exact. I have not maidened it since the new gear. It is all new except for the horizontal stab. I used hs-81 servo's in it for better response and handling over all. This plane likes to torque roll upon hand launching. It is wise to toss off a hill for the first few times. She is definatley a handful to fly until alt. and speed is achieved.

i was thinking of picking one up for my next plane, but a lot of people said that they are a bear to fly. maybe ill just go with aileron and brushless with the super cub for now and maybe get a gas trainer.

I have 3 of the PZ P-51's. I think it is a good 2nd plane for those of you looking that like WW2. One of mine is stock, the other is crashed and the 3rd started with an Eflite brushless 450 (recomended) but it was not fast enough so I went with the 480 and it was to fast so I went with the Eflite Brushless 10 and the biggest speed prop it would handle. The hobby shop tried to talk me out of it saying the motor was to big for the plane. It is insanly over powered now. Easily 4x's the stock power and speed. The wing had to have a carbon spar and there is carbon in the fuse and tail. i also tightened up all the linkages to prevent flutter. The radio is a micro reciever and sub micro servos to keep it as light as possible. To launch it I hold it straigh up and put in 3/4 throttle and gently toss it up, it climbs like a rocket. I was flying the same day a buddy brought out a 90 sized p51 and mine would run laps around his. This one is an easy 100 mph plane. I built it to pylon race but no one will race me. I wonder why?
