Well, I'm getting serious now ! Curious to know what the real speed of a Funjet is, so I purchased a radar gun that goes up to 200mph. We'll see if I can get close enough to get consistent readings. No more speculating, lets get down to the real numbers !! Flyer88

flyer88, only problems wwith rader guns is that the need a fair bit of surface area to reflect the waves back to the gun. the problem with our little fast planes is that they are small so in turn have little surface area, plus they are hard to aim at lol. you will need be fairly low to get a accurate reading also, but give it a shot and let us know how it works. I can get you the links to the doppler program I use if the radar doesn't work out for ya.

Another fun way to do it is with a eagletree data logger. No need for another guy to hold the gun. Just land and look at the data screen, or plug into a pc and get all kinds of info from your flight.

ill get ya that link in bit. its on rcgroups. eagletree systems are cool, I wouldn't mind one since my gps logger has no screen so I can't see the data till I get home.

Never saw that one before. Not too bad of a price if they actually work good. Have you used one before? How accurate are they?

www3.towerhobbies.com/cgi-bin/wti0001p?&P=SM&I=LXVEU1Personally I would go with eagle tree due to their constant quality and proven track record here in the US. Not sure about the How high or how fast stuff. Counting blinking lights or watching a digital read out for the same price seems a no brainer. Might even be cheaper with eagle tree. They are constantly upgrading their line and making improvements. You can always update them for free too. Kevin P.S. They are stand alone or can be hooked to the logger...either way.

Finally got the Radar gun. Tried it out with a friend on the cub and seems to pick it up ok.
Just have to do some speed tests on the Funjet now ! I'll keep you posted.
