i was flying my new supercub i got for the holidays. i go to a football feild to fly because of the space. i have had some bad crashes there. i flew into a 7 by 10 foot wide building. i was flying to day and there were some other kids there playing. i was bringing it down for a landing and the throttle is off just gliding. i then noticed the plane was coming to low and i yelled LOOK OUT . they ducked and i turned the throttle on at the last second and flew 1 ft above them. (super) close. i then pulled up and skinned the ground with the propeller when i went into a nose dive. super close to a huge crash.

Be careful. These planes are small but any plane can do some serious damage to someone. I know first hand what it's like to take a prop in the leg, and it was only from an electric 480 size motor. I had a bruise 8" around on my leg and a cut in my leg when the prop went through my jeans.
Any plane is very dangerous, take it seriously.
Fly it low !! but safely.

I checked, you are 18. Apparently you think that was funny. How'd you like it if someone came after you with a 1 1/2 # knife going 8,000 RPM?
If this sounds like a lecture aimed at an irresponsible kid - it is! Behavior like that is completely irresponsible and what gets RC banned at parks, schools and other places we like to fly.
If you can't control your airplane yet, and apparently you cannot, you shouldn't be flying around people at all.
Edit-I normally wouldn't post something like this in a public forum. I'd usually keep this to a private message. Being chewed out is humiliating and generally serves no good purpose but I see this as a pretty serious infraction and dangerous behavior.
2nd edit-We all make mistakes. This was obviously a mistake with no harm intended. The real mistake is not realizing the potential for serious harm, thinking it was funny, and posting it in a public forum.

Where did he say it was funny? Sounds as if he was scared and had dumb thumbs. It is always good to talk to folks and get more info before cutting their throats.

You have a point. That was an interpretation based on writing style, icon use, and in this case use as a first post. Could have been way wrong. In that case I'm acting in public as out of line as he was. One stupidity does not usually cancel out another.

Agreed.
But a novice should never be flying around other people. Not intended to scare off .........only to educate.

I hear ya man. I was not trying to get down on anyone either. Hate to see someone turned off is all. Thanks for helping out so much fly. I understand where you were coming from also. I hate when people play the "stupid" card too. Ignorance is no excuse for accidents. Hope all is welll with this fella and he realizes what he did and makes a better attempt at safety next time.
Wonder how it is preventable? I try to fly with no one around all the time (except at club fly's) and there is always someone who pops up at the worst of times.....like landing. Making the public aware of what your doing can be tough in a public place. I would think it is common sense but not everyone has that in them.

Good judgment comes from wisdom. Wisdom comes from making bad decisions. Bad decisions come from lack of judgment. Seems the source of all bad judgment is teenage boys, I should know.....was one.

when i land, i turn the throttle off and glide down so im not going 30 mph at the ground like 10mph and no throttle or proppeller spinning.

I'm glad you showed back up. One of the problems with the net is you don't know people and can get their intent and manner wrong. I apologize if I misjudged you.
My goal is safety first, fun second. It's something that happened to me after I achieved enough experience with fun first and the occasional unintended results. Seems to be more common in older men.
