I was kind of looking into my next plane, and of course the f-27b comes to mind, because I can use a lot of my existing equipment to fly it, but then I started looking into EDF's, and I really love the idea that i could be flying f-15/f-16/f-18's around. Just looking to see if there is any input out there as far as good/bad experiences with any specific brands, and what the world thinks of the whole EDF scene.

Hi mizzarty I like this "Next plane ideas" I will look into setting up another board on the forum with different manufacturers, so SC users can share there experiences with other models.

Hi gnascher. I bought the Pulse about 6 weeks ago. It really is a beautiful bit of kit. Goes together real easy. I fitted it out with E flite 480 motor, 40amp ESC, S75 servos and 3s lipo. Unfortunately i cant give you a flight report as my ESC caught fire 10 seconds after plugging up. Burnt a hole through the balsa and the covering. The ESC has gone back to E flite. They are still waiting for it to turn up. Hopefully it will get resolved. It was brand new out of the packet. Will probably buy another ESC and get this good looking craft in the air.

SCC, wow, glad it was only the plane that got damaged... itchy. Thats so true. This happened in my mates kitchen. I don't think his wife was too happy with the acrid smoke and smell.

SCC bummer to hear! Hope all is well otherwise. Mizzarty edf's are great but the are not very efficient (sp). I have flown a few of them and have to say they are fun and sound awesome. I have a GWS delta wing bomer and it has 2 edf's in it. A great kit from GWS for very cheap and it is a good solid plane. It is a slow flyer believe it or not. I also have a Jet hangar International A-7 Corsair II which has yet to be assembled. Here is a link. www.jethangar.com/ It is under aircraft then click on the jet in the center. I also have the F-27C and it too is an awesome plane for the money. I would recommend getting the C over the B. If you like speed at all then the B will bore quickly. Lets get that thread started you spoke of SCC. Great idea. Peace

I bought a Hobbico Electristar a while back that flys great when it flys. I'm having trouble with it shutting off after 3-4 minutes of flight. Seems like the ESC is getting too hot and shutting off (sounds similar to your problem, SCC!) Sending it back for eval. Otherwise, I would definitely recommend it for a step up to a larger plane with ailerons.

My next aircraft will probably be another RTF , because I don't fully understand what equipment you need to get a PnP or ARF airborne. I love the Super Cub though, so I'll probably get another one of those.
The PZ Typhoon 2 3D looks very tempting, but I don't understand LiPo packs yet so I'll be waiting on that. But the only reason I'm considering a Typhoon is because it looks fast. Is the Stryker faster?
