Hey, My Mom's BF had a old plane in his garage that he got from a friend. It's a gas plane and I don't know what kind it is. It's in good condition just needs a better Monokote. I need to get a Radio, Servos, a engine (which my friend is giving me one hes a RC Plane Freak) and some Balsa and Monokote. I hope it flies good cause it will be my project. It looks like really messy and destroyed but I bet I can get it lookin' clean. She will be up in the air. Tommarow Im going to go sand it down with some sand paper. Here are some Pictures. A Overview of the Plane. Front of the Plane. Inside the Plane Under the Plane Another Overview Thanks, Jake

paint and some covering and it will look great. just make sure there is no rot and that the adhesive is still holding strong.

man that thing is ugly! a little hard work and i think you will have it looking good. you should probably know that your first attempt at covering will not be perfect. you should expect some wrinkles...the more you practice the better your planes will look.

I agree with Duck. So long as the wood is healthy and the glue is strong, all she needs is a new coat of paint and some covering on the wings.
It's like looking for a good project car - you have to look beyond the outward appearance into the structure of it. It's a lot easier (and cheaper) to repaint and reupholster than it is to repair the frame. By the same token, it's a heck of a lot easier to slap on some paint than it is to rebuild a rotten wooden fuselage.

It ought to go smooth. Someone gave me a carl goldberg freedom 20 and said if you can fix her she's yours. She is one of my most reliable planes in the fleet. Ended up going BL and recovered most of it.
Looks like you got your work cut out for you. Covering is fun if you let it be. If you haven;t done it before you might do some research first. It's one of those love it or hate it tasks. I for one love it. It is challenging and looks awesome when your done. Good luck with it! Give us a play by play if ya would. Pics of progress are always good.
