Evenin, Been flying most of the day today and having a blast. The winds were blowing pretty heavy today but I seemed to be handling pretty well. In fact I sort of learned how to use the wind to my advantage. I would fly the cub to one end of park to get height then turn then sort of dive at full throttle with the wind that cub would go screaming to the other side of the park. Before I completely make it to other side I woud give it up elevator. The plane would execute a series of loops while also loosing some momentum. I did this sort of thing for most of the morning then packed it in. Went back out this evening only this time the wind seemed a little stronger. Anyway, the wind was basically taking the plane away. The cub just could not overcome it so I did a dive to get lower and out of worst of it. Came down too steep on one of the other ball fields and could not get enough height to clear a fence. The attached is the result. I think I can repair the firewall motor mount. I think I might be better off to replace the rudder. Don't know if it will have the responsiveness it had trying to tape or glue it. I am open to other ideas...

Man that's to bad. Can't believe your prop is still good after that. Foam safe CA and your rudder should be OK.

Believe it or not that is only my second prop. I bought another prop just in case but have not needed it. I am thinking about changing to the 10x6 GWS HD prop as I understand it's a little better than the prop that came with it.

The 10x6 HD is more 'efficient'. You'll fly a bit longer with with less power. It's kind of like gas mileage. Drive your car faster, you get less gas mileage, it's less efficient. In general slow fly props (big fat blades) have more thrust at the expense of more drag. Depends on the need and the goal.
The 10x6 becomes somewhat of a requirement when you go to 3s since you are increasing voltage by 30% and doubling amperage if you stay with the stock prop. This is kind of brutal on the stock electrics that are not designed for that.

Ouchy!! The front can probably be repaired, my father nose dived his cub, and broke the front off his plane as well. Buy yourself some 5min epoxy. George
