hi all just a quick one im building up a new cub using stock electrics but with lipo batteries. not going to use the original servos as local model store dosent stock them. they said the hitec HS55 servos are better and will fit the original cub rx is this right, before i go in and buy or is a mod needed thanks anyone.

the hs-55 fit the cub well, but are the standard 3 wire servos, not the 5 wire that hobbyzone used so you will need a new rx. your stuck with the hobbyzone servos untill you get away from the stock esc/rx combo.

Thanks duck, this means new transmitter as well more cost, ill stick with the hobbyzone ones for now. thanks ps.,ive blade cx2 which uses spectrum transmitter. what sort of cost is a rx to go with that for the cub (brushed)all i need to do is bind it to transmitter..... i think still learning.

well, the cx2 uses the LP5DSM radio, which is a limited range radio. if you look on rcgroups some of the electrical wiz's over there have turned it into basically a dx7, but its not any easy task, tons of mods are needed. there is a not so hard mod if you can solder to improve the operating rand with a RF amp.
if you look around some of the rc form classified's you might be able to find a dx5 or cheap 35Mhz radio.
