Hey,
Today I took my HobbyZone Supercub to the fairgrounds today and it was fairly high winds.. I charged it at night but not overnight. I took off the ground, being throwed everywhere in the air my motor cuts off about 2-5 mintues in flight and I was like Wth?
I threw it on charge and waited a bit and its done charging in like 15 minutes. I saw a blank red and I threw it in the plane. I took off and boom the same thing happened?! This problem only started after I started using a Bosch Work Radio with a 12V 1Amp DC plugin and I used my charger and set it to 1 Amp Settings. I called Hobbyzone and they said that it was Pre Peak Charging so I had to replug it in and see if it would start charging again.. So I did it and it still went solid red.. Took off and ... yeah you know what happened same thing..
I then charged in the truck at 1.2 amps and it finished in 15 minutes amazingly.. I though it was going to work but no it didnt.. The winds were making it hover they were so strong, but it rarely happened. Then I thought "Hmm Maybe its the wind?" So I went full speed in the car with no wind and same thing happened.. Like when it cuts off I'll go half and then full speed and it cuts.
Im using the Stock Hobbyzone DC Adjustible peak charger (DC)
Thanks

Hi Has the small black jumper (connector) near to where the 2 sets of red/black ACT wires connect to the black plastic receiver case come out or loose? When using NiMH, the cut off voltage is 5.7V but for LiPo batteries, you remoe the jumper so the cut off voltage is higher. In your case, if the jumper is out, the stock 7 cell NiMH battery would fly for a short time before the voltage drop a little and the cut-off operated. The batteries are charged when you start and only discharge slightly when you gave a short flight so it only takes 15 mins to "top them up"
Hope this helps retiredbri
