;D hi all and merry crimbo Ive been looking on you tube at all the great cub,s with lights and as ive a spare cub now thanks to horizon hobbies wanted to give it some bling. im in the UK so alot of the goods you guys in the states are using arnt available, or i cant find here.and i want to keep it cheap! there is a guy using these small push on/off stick on lights he calls dotit, over here dotit are by osram and are alot bigger so its a no go. i did ask for info but he wasn't much help one idea i thought of was using Christmas tree strip lights or similar (about 20 bulbs per strip) i want this thing to GLOW. my question is, as they are sold with a typical house plug on could i cut the ends off and fix a small deans plug on and connect to a 2 cell lipo from an e-flight blade cx2. any help and ideas would be great, i would love to get this done by crimbo. cheers

I can't really respond to the X-mas lights idea, but if you want to hook up some LEDs here a good how to link. (from previous post) If anyone is looking to wire some LEDs to the Cub using the battery pack, or just aren't an electronics whiz, the check this page out. It even has wire diagrams and an OHMS calculator to figure out the resistor you need. www.quickar.com/ledbasics.htm

i built one of these to put on my cessna and my simple stick. you do need to be able to solder well and understand the layout of all the parts. hard part will be to find someone that can burn the pic for you, i could but im not sure how much i would cost to send over seas. if you want a bit easier way hobbycity has some new light wire stuff that looks cool, but the controller is still out of stock.

duck9191 Saw that Light Wire, looks like it plugs into the receiver and is activated on a spare channel. Is that the case? Know anyone who has used it?

ya either a spare channel or you can just use a Y and plug it in to one of the leads. the controller has been out of stock for ever lol. i was gonna buy a bunch of the wire and try to make my own controller, im guessing it jumps the voltage and frequency up.
