When I upgraded to the Spektrum and new servos, I was mystified that the Elevator servo arm was at right angles to the servo body but the rudder servo arm wasn't. I stumbled across the sub-trim function to get the arm correct but felt that I was missing something. I found the answer on this site www.rmfm.org/servo_arms.htmIt explained (for standard servos) how many splines there are on the shaft and arm. The site says for standard HiTech servo has 24 splines. I counted the number for my mini HiTech HS55 and there are 15 splines. This means that if you put the arm on one way, it will be at right angles to the servo body but when on the opposite way, it will be 24deg (360/15 = 24 deg) away from the right angles. The first picture, with the the black dot (arm number 2) on the right makes the arm at right angles to the servo While the second picture, with the the black dot (arm number 2) on the left makes the arm 24 deg off set from a right angle. The site has lots of other useful data for novices like me to understand all the functions of "proper" radio systems. www.rmfm.org/Tips.htmMy many thanks to Richard Lindberg for his words of wisdom.
