Went out this morning to fly at 6:45 AM, winds were about 1 mph which is the calmest they've been all week. Went down to this school and got an hour of flying in before a lot of people started showing up. Yep I was having a good 'ole time, even though it was 23 degrees. Then I decided to stop by the park on the way home, if there was nobody around to bother then maybe an additional battery pack or 2 was in order. Sun up, clear sky, very light breeze, what's not to like about that? Loops, "soggy" rolls, hammerheads and just having a jolly old time ;D. Ended up paying less attention to my surroundings (ground) than I should have and this is what I took home, . Live and learn... At least the motor, ESC, servos and receiver still work. Time to get to the LHS pick up more foam parts and do it all again, lol. One thing I found really helpful was putting 3 strips of packing tape in the tail boom section: one on the bottom of the fuse running from the tail wheel assembly over the plastic peice to the edge of that 3 hole cut out section and then one on each side of the fuse, running the same length but with the top edge of the packing tape level with the seam in the foam. Works for me... Probably don't need that much tape back there and since it's on the end like that it sure changes the center of gravity, but in the pic the tail boom didn't snap (everything else went to heck in a hanbasket but the tail boom is intact). Well it's after 1:00, batteries all charged, Hobby Shop open so I gotta take off... Happy and Safe flying to all

I feel your pain brother. Mine looks the same after hitting some oak limbs. Good news is it will be short money to repair and get flying again.

Hmmm...... been there before. My first SC ended up completely wrapped in packing tape. It was bullet proof!!!! Also weighed a ton, but that was just an excuse to get a very large brushless setup. Good luck

Well, here is the "new" one , actually just like the old one but with a cpouple of changes. Still yellow but brushed on yellow rustoleum rather than yellow acrylic, and it seems to be holding up better. Tried for the look of a comet , darker in front fading to a lighter tail, but this looks liks a mis matched checker board . Ran a strip of packing tape the entire length of each side of the fuse and skipped most of the decals but it just doesn't have the pzazz (if that's evevn a word). Burried the ESC entirely in the nose of the plane and removed a lot of foam for more air flow. One thing I especially like is the way I cut away the front of the battery box and rigged an elastic sling to hold a 2200 mah battery. Yeah thought about it a lot but now it's putting way too much weight in front of the COG and I had to place nearly 1/2 an oz of lead in the tail to get it to balance Ok. Flattened the wing with 2 strips of tape and used the velcro strip from the stock battery box (secured underneath the X port tube) to hold the wing struts(80 # kite string) Overall I'm not as happy with the plane as I should be but since the wing has very little dihedral and I moved the control rods in one hole on the control horns the plane's more squirley and way funner to fly ;D (think I'll go back to the 1550 mah battery) Woo Hoo... Happy and Safe flying to all...
