After converting to a better radio with dual rates and exponential, what control throws have you set for rudder and elevator? And exponential values? Regards, Arne

for the super cub you dont need expo, its more for your jets and 3d'ers that are very touchy. as for the dual rates, i set mine up 80%/125% that way if someone eles wanted to fly it i would set it low but if i wanted to fly i could set them high and have some fun. you could just start at 75-100 and work your way around till you fine what you like. NEVER SET THEM TO 0, you will have no control.

Thanks, duck ! Are you also able to give the throws in mm or inches on high rate? I forgot to note what the original throws were. arne

I'm a newbie with a Spektrum Dx6i and have a few questions:
What does expo do please?
Does the setting 125% make the servos drive over a larger angle/greater throw?. Is this the same as putting the clevis in the horn closer to the working surface? Regards Retiredbri

Well the question is 125% of what? Is it 125% of 1 inch?
Exponential is simple but sort of hard to explain. Ok here we go, if your stick is centered that is 0 and if it is moved all the way to the endpoint that is 100%. Lets say you want it so when you give 1/4 stick input you really only want the surface to move 1/8 of the way to 100%. You have to add -50% expo. This is handy when your flying a plane for the first time. I alwyas set my throws to what they recommend and put a -50 expo in. So for the first half of the stick my movements are actually 1/2 of my inputs. The other half of the stick will be linear as it is normally. Take a line and draw it from one corner of a box to the opposite corner. Then make another box and make a line that is curved from one corner to the other. With expo you can set the curve you want. With higher end radio's you can realy dial the curve the way you want it. I will try to find someone elses write up on expo and post it. I am no good at this...
