Hi all, I've finally joined after looking around quite abit.
I need help with the control horn's. I have ailerons cut to about 1.25 x 12 with top hinges. I mocked up the hones I had 1/2a or something like that. I didn't get the even a 1/4 of the travel I expected. I have a bevel on the aileron and wind to drop down almost 90 degrees.
What can I do to get more movement out of the aileron? longer or shorter arms? What about the distance from the horn to the servo?
Thanks for you help

Longer servo horns will give you more throw. Are you using the outer hole on your servo arm and the inner hole on your control horn? Maybe you can adjust your servo travel in yout TX. Good luck and welcome to the forum.

OK I have located longer servo arms. I'll try that with the outer on the servo and inner on the control horn.
I don't have any travel available on the TX.
Thanks

amc. Be aware that using those hole settings will make your inputs very sensitive. Most of my planes ailerons have throws around 10mm. It does'nt sound or look like much but it certainly does the job.
I'm sure someone could give an estimate at what your throws should be for a good performance.
