Hi all. Glad I ran into this site.
Santa Claus (my wonderful wife) left a SC under the tree.
I've had an "interesting" time getting it airborne for any length of time. Initial flights were severely hampered by high winds and I've rebuilt the cowling several times now. Actually only been out 3 times since Dec. 25th.
This last Sunday was my most successful flight although the landing was a bit rough everything survived intact.
Unlike the second flight... sigh... I was flying out of a school playground and all of a sudden the SC had a mind of it's own, took a 90 degree turn and crashed into the side of the school completely separating the firewall from the fuselage.
I've CA'd the firewall back together and am planning on using Loctite Sumo glue to fixate the firewall to the fuselage.
This is going to quickly become addicting once I get some time on some calm days.

I've ridden my bike by that field many times but I've never used it as a model aviator as I've just started in the sport.

Cool. I flew there a while back when visiting family. If you do end up flying there, get an AMA membership because you need to have your card posted on the board.

Thanks for the tip. You may have just kept me from inadvertently stepping on someone's toes.
I hadn't started to be concerned that formal RC venues would most likely have a set of rules/protocols and probably some unwritten etiquette as well.
Up to this point I've been using a school playfield near my home.
