Sorry about that guys, there's a repeat of this thread. That other one's mine too. Well, last sunday, it was a very nice and calm day to go flying at my field. My first flight for the day had started and still flew for about 8 minutes. But suddenly, a guy at my club took his giant spitfire airborne. I tried avoiding it by flying high and avoiding its rotation. But unfortunately, suddenly, the spitfire unexcpectdly comes by the side and accidentally collides with my cub. THe spitfire still flies in good condition ready to land. The guy appoligized for the mistake. But you know, it's part of the sport. Hopefully, I decided to rebuild it and I did in just 2 hours. I couldn't just give up on the poor plane. My Parkzone T-28 would be lonely also. It's all fixed up now. s415.photobucket.com/albums/pp231/RCFAST123/?action=view¤t=DSC04205.jpg

It happens, especially in uncontrolled parks. Had a collision with my best buddy when we were the only 2 guys there flying back to back. We just didn't see each other coming. Very disheartening to watch the shrapnel fall out of the sky. I'm more careful around other fliers now and keep my distance, or land if there are too many newies with limited control in the area.

I really do agree, FlyDiver!! I fly at a AMA operated field, Field of Dreams, in San Pedro, CA. It's a very huge field, but a problem is that now days its been getting really active over there. Guys are coming over with there giant scale warbirds and take up 3/4 of the field flying those things. Here's how the plane kind of looks www.sierragiant.com/images/Joespit2.jpg

What is it with HZ Supercubs and Spitfires? I had a collision last week when a Spitfire from nowhere crashed into my cub. We were about 300 feet high too. The cub spiraled down with a broken tail and minor wing damage, but the spitfire disintegrated on impact and fell in a million pieces. I was able to repair the cub with a new tail set and was up and running again in a few hours. I was surprised that the spitfire was destroyed while to supercub survived.
