I used Rust-Oleum's new UNIVERSAL paint to freshen up my cub. I was able to cover it beautifully with no damage to the foam at all! Tell me what ya think!

Man, lookin' great! Nothing like a yellow plane, just sticks out when it's flying. I've tried using spray on paint a couple time and always ended up with a mess. Have read that it's the carrier for the spray paint that does the damage to foam so am wondering how far away you had to keep the nozzle when you sprayed and what kind kind of coverage did you get on the plane?

patamatgal: i actually was able to hold the can fairly close to the plane and was able to get a nice look in one coat! i did two just to be sure, but this spray paint is just perfect for what we want. And it didnt seem to weigh the plane down at all!

Going to try that paint on my SC-was going to do yellow, but the darn store was out so I got red. At least it will match my slow-stick...lol Any hints will be appreciated. Flyby

Fantastic! A spray can of paint that won`t eat up the foam. Have got to try this, am planning to put an extra motor and ESC into something (probably a Super Cub) and now I`ve got the paint to go with it, (Love it when a plan comes together.) Happy and safe flying to all... PS again, that is one great lookin' plane

cubber let us know how the paint job holds up after a few flights. most paint jobs seem fine in the beginning and peel and flake badly after a few flights. im curious to see how your's wears

Just curious, but it's now November 20th and I wanted to know how that Yellow Cub is holding up? I have a new SC on the way and this would be the perfect time to paint it if the Rust-Oleum really works.

So... the paint itself has held up pretty well. It is prone to coming off the foam if you nick it on something, or crash it I suppose.... :/
BUT the paint will not flake off naturally. In other words, it will only come off due to user error. heheh.
