This is my beloved cub. The tail is destroyed.. I am done with clubs for good. I will not go back other than scale meets at AMA fields. I went to a new one today as a guest with a member and this is what became of my cub. This place has one spot for planes with a runway and the helis are restricted to stay at the far end and not go out as far as the runway. That keeps the helis at a safe distance from people and property. I called my landing and was coming in behind a gas plane that was also landing and as I came in low a heli streaked across the runway trying to do some 3D and cut the tail off my plane. The heli hit the dirt and the guy proceded to yell at me for costing him several hundered dollars. Apperently a slow electric plane has no business at a club. Duely noted. I will not be back. I packed up my pathetic cub and left. His attitude was poor but many other people told me to come back and not worry about him. If I have to be around a prick when I am there why would I come back. It would be in their best interest to ask someone like that to leave. But if you pay your dues you can be as rude as you want. That is the problem with most clubs one or two bad apples make the whole place uninviting and not worthy my membership. The damage is restricted to the tail since I was only about 5 feet from the ground when he hit me. All that has it attached to the plane is the covering on the bottom. The plane is repairable.

Boy that sucks!!! I'm not a member of any club and the one thing I like about the cub is you don't need a nice long club runway to fly it. I'm sure you are still mad at the guys comments but try and forget about the jerk and smile knowing his screwup cost him more $$ than you Todd

What an ass. Sounds like the guy was a crappy heli pilot. He ran into you, not you into him - especially since you called your landing.
What a jerk.

Bummer. Thats and easy fix for you for sure. On the other hand he will be ordering parts, removing parts, cussing, replacing parts, cussing, balancing parts, cussing, testing parts, swearing, and if he is lucky the thing will fly again properly. Meanwhile you apply some glue and laugh at his cussing and rudeness. The lord takes care of people like that one way or another (he may have had it coming the whole time)....lol. Kevin

like its been said the cub is a rather tough bird thats easily fixed ,while on the other hand just pulling the copter apart is the start of lots of tedious agrivation.
