I live in rocklin, CA. Just wondering if anybody might know of a good place to fly. Any suggestions on how to find them in my area, too.

Try school yards, parks, empty parking lots. Download a free copy of Google Earth and locate your home. Then zoom out and start looking for open areas. If you find public spots, try and use them when not many people are around. Always ask if you can use private spots.
Me, I have 10 acres, with lots of trees. Right now there are about 30 trees laying on the ground. I'm making a spot! Nothing like flying at home.
Good luck finding a spot. FYI consider joining the AMA Park Flyer program. You get insurance, which if you have to fly in public spots may come in handy.
