Hi, I am from Georgia and purchased my cub yesterday. I am very nervous about flying it the first time. Im a full time student so my "play money" is limited. I also purchased the Real Flight 3.5 sim a few weeks ago. I have been practicing on that every day and have gotten the controls down on the radio pretty well flying in about 7 MPH winds. I do not have any expansion packs, so can anyone tell me what plane would best resemble the supercub on the Sim. would a baseball park be a good place to fly a supercub to start off with? Thanks..

Hi jp,
I do not recommend ACT. The sim is ok to get you oriented but the only way to learn to fly is to get out there and do it. Make sure you do all the checks as spelled out in the manual, pick a day with ZERO wind, a large clear ( trees nearby WILL jump out and grab your plane) field. (2x a soccer field is nice) Turn the ACT OFF. I prefer a ROG (rise off ground) as less damage will occur from a botched take off. REMEMBER: Easy on the sticks !! Overcontrol causes most unplanned landings (crashes). This ain't no video game. Above all have fun and don't sweat the unplanned landings, they WILL occur, A cub that ain't been crashed ain't been flown. You can lessen the damage from the inevitable unplanned landings by doing some of the mods described on this and other forums. I consider completly encasing the wing with clear packing tape to be a top priority. I tape the tail feathers also. I'm still flyin my originals. Don't ask me how many unplanned landings I've made; can't count that high. ;D M
