Hello all. I have been perusing the Cub board for a few days and decided to join the fray. After a hiatus of a few years away from modeling,my brother awoke the urge for eyes to the sky and a stiff neck when he purchased a SC and want to know if I could still fly and could I teach him. Well, evidently it's like riding a bike, once you learn, you don't forget. So in a space of about three weeks,I go from no planes to 5 planes and I'm back in the air.
In the past I have flown R/C sport,R/C sailplanes(2m to Unlimited and achieved LSF Level 4),R/C Old timers,FF gas (A,B,C &D classes),FF Ignition Old timers(30 second Antique & Fuel Allotment),Indoor and outdoor rubber,FF scale,HLG,..well,you get the idea.
I was fortunate to win over 200 contest in R/C sailplanes and about same in various FF events, including a number of them at both the AMA Nats and the SAM Nats. For about 15 years I was a AMA Contest Director and held many Old Timer meets at the club I belonged to at the time.
Over the years I have designed many planes of my own which met with fairly good success in assorted FF and R/C Classes . I was also a R/C flight instructor for the club for sport and sailplane aircraft.
After my brother bought his SC and I flew it for a bit, I went and got one for myself thinking 'this will be fun for a bit'. Just a nice little Cubby to scoot around in and not alot of fuss. NOT!! We have already modded them with brushless motors,4 channels, paint jobs and so on. And there is an Extra 300,Parkzone Spitfire,Modeltech Fledgeling, H/L Miss 2,2 PZ Cubbys in the shop with a 110'' Esprit Elipsoid E-sailplane on the way.
So,anyhow, nice to be aboard and back in the hobby. I think I'll hang around for a while.
(Sorry for the long post and the boring 'me' stuff. )
