I used regular acrylic paint, it comes in a small bottles, I don't exactly know what brand it was, but most acrylic paints will work on the Cub and NOT eat through the foam. Try NOT to use spray paint. Always test the paint on the foam box that your cub came in, just in case! ;D Hope this helps! Message me if you have any other questions!

when i first painted a few weeks ago i used some of that and covered it with a WBPU floor sealer and after 3 flights you could pull the paint right off in big sheets...it was terrible! i just got finished with white ultracote (worked surprisingly well despite my trivial covering skills) and i was halfway through spraying it with krylon when my dad came out and noticed that there was some cub yellow overspray on his black durango...
i now have a yellow fuse and tail assembly but a half-yellow, half-white wing...and he swiped my spray can. not a good night for me...hopefully i can finish painting and fly tomorrow, i have to go sweet talk him for my can back
ugh! not only does the wind bring your planes down but it throws your paint everywhere too! curses....

Tried/trying Krylon Fusion for Plastic. So far it looks promising, haven't flown with it yet but the test foam stands up to my trying to scrape it off with my fingernail. Got fed up with the other paints dropping yellow flecks of paint all over the place (except the Plasti Di, it peels off in sheets). flyer88 I know you recommended the Killz Shellac in another post too, didn't I try it this time but there will always be another time.

Will do. Been really windy lately but I just looked at the 3 day wind prediction for my favorite field. Thursday morning the wind direction will change 180 degrees with a period of dead calm in there (between 5 and 8 AM), I'm so there... This is a really good web site for seeing what the wind will be like at the closest airport, more accurate than the local news. www.usairnet.com/cgi-bin/launch/code.cgi?Submit=Go&sta=KIAD&state=VA

Flew for all of 60 to 90 seconds, darned light posts! 2 ROGs and a solid nose hit, broke the motor shaft from the 450 but just "dented" the cowl (has about 5 light coats of Plasti Dip on the inside and 4 more on the outside). Krylon Fusion for Plastic seems to be holding up very well so far. Had tested it on part of an old wing and ran it under the faucet for a good 5 minutes last night, still passing the "fingernail scratch" test. Here's a pic of the SC with a "nosebleed"

Good news, bad news and more good news and still more good news... Good news, got SC put back together and flew a couple batteries this AM. Winds were a bit higher than I would've liked but the past several days were screamers. Bad news is I got blown off course and treed it after a while, recovered it but the wing was trashed. Good news is the Krylon Fusion for Plastic paint is holding up much better than anything else tried. It passes the fingernail scratch test (eaves little white streaks in the foam but not flaking off) Still more good news is that when I get a new wing I'll prime it with Killz first then paint it.

Doesn't prime, then paint add too much weight for stock SC?

The SC can carry a lot of weight (used a 5 oz flash light and it flew suprisingly well, just that a lot of landing room is needed) What I'm more concered with is applying a light and even coat.
