Hey Gang Here's my deal, kinda some newbie questions still(I can fly great, info is what I need,,,lol): -I got now 2 super cubs, and both fly great on both the reg and my new 2 9.6 8 cells batterys.... -going lipo EVENTUALY, but not yet -heard about probs with charging the 8 cells with PZ chargers, and heard great things about MKII able to do BOTH NIMH and lipo, I HAVE SOME QUESTIONS.. 1-?-if I order this from hobbico, and still use NIMH 7 and 8 cells,(they use the tamiya plugs) what OTHER CABLES/PLUGS do I need to ORDER? to fit the stock batteries???(it says comes with banana plugs, assuming Ill need an adapter so I can charge pz batteries?) 2-and two, when ordering custom 8 cells online, It asked ME to specify which plugs you want, and since NOT ON deans, what are they called? r they the 'Tamiya Large"?? male and female??? or 'tamiya small' ?whats the name for the SC stock batt plugs?? 3-and 3-the lipo, I will read all the threads first, like a good forum person to get all that info before making anyone repost good info... but in the meantime, whoever uses the MKII WITH STOCK BATT'S, if they can tell me, what plugs/converter to order AS WELL, so that it will work with my stock 7 and 8 cells to start?thanks in advance,,love my sc

1. You can cut the charge lead off the stock charger for charging on the MKII.
2. Tamiya small.
If your not planning to use the stock charger just cut the lead off and solder the banana plugs on to it.

At this stage you REALLY don't want to stay with the stock Tamiyas. They are VERY poor connectors when used over time. If you've been flying Cubs since Feb you are on borrowed time already. Make the plunge, move to Dean's ultras and learn to solder. When you lose a plane because of a $%$#$ Tamiya you'll understand.
Stock pistol shaped charger will NOT charge 8-cell. Wall wart will but slowly. MKII is a fine charger but BUT DOES NOT BALANCE LIPOS. Expect to add $30-50 more for a balancer down the road. With that investment I favor getting a better lipo charger to start. My fave is the FMA Cellpro 4S.
Once you get some lipos you probably will never use the NiMh again.

I used my Mark II charger with the stock batteries for about a year. Have about 6 of the stock batteries. I did change the connectors to Dean's about two weeks after getting my SC. After having the plane loose power, it did get me to learn how to land dead stick. Started using the 3C lipo after about 3 months and rarely use the stock batts anymore. My only bad experiance with the Mark II is that it doesn't charge the lipo's all the way up. I bought the Hobbico Accu-cycle Elite and have been using it for the last 6 months. It costs a bit more but worth it. The Mark II is a great field charger and easy to use, I do reccomend it.
