Chris-you keep asking pretty much the same question > how do I get more power with minimal expenditure and modification?
Answer - There is no way. You can't get something for nothing. A direct drive can motor will not work. A larger can motor will not work. A larger/smaller prop will not work. Asking some more will not work.
The stock cub is a pretty well thought out power plant and works well within it's limitations. Until you 'get it' and understand how these systems work I suggest you just stick with it.
You CAN upgrade the battery to lipo or 8-cell, that will work. 8-cell is probably least expensive (you'll need a new charger as well as the 8-cell). Lipo 3S is next but the kind of questions you are asking indicates you still have a lot to learn about the sport and frankly I think they might be dangerous for you right now.
Pretty much everything else is a wholesale modification of the entire system. There is plenty of information available. People have been trying to figure out how to do that for a couple years and solutions have been found. Do some reading.
You just want speed for simple and can throw some $$ at it go buy a Stryker C. A complete modification of a Cub will cost you more than that.

When starting out we all lack knowledge. That's what we're here for. But over the last few days you've been asking pretty much the same question in a way that seems to indicate that someone will have a better answer for you if you just keep asking. There is a HUGE amount to learn in this sport. No particular short cuts. Go to this guys web site: www.ampaviators.com/index.php?option=com_content&task=blogcategory&id=17&Itemid=28Read everything on the Cub. Then read almost everything else, especially anything that pertains to being a new flier. Once your brain has recovered a bit go read this since you are interested in MORE power: www.wattflyer.com/forums/showthread.php?t=18521Expect to read it 2-4 times. You aren't ready for an upgrade until you understand it. And a critical part of the power plant is the battery. Then read this: www.rcgroups.com/forums/showthread.php?t=417868Make sure you track down a few of the links that look interesting. You want to upgrade? You either have to learn to do it, pay for it, or find a friend to lean on to do it for you. Your choice. Most of us do it the hard way-make lots of mistakes. That can EASILY double or triple the cost of the sport. If there is ONE SURE THING I've learned in this sport is to look it up, and check it out before I do/buy/modify almost anything. Saves grief down the road. fly

if you want someone with a lack of knowledge look no furthur than my posts Can't be-I personally taught you a few things.... ;D Now, Chris-you could probably help him. He's even newer than you are. Plus, you haven't met a couple of my buddies. They love the flying but pretty much everything else they struggle with. When one of my buddies broke a prop, threw on one he had and promptly burned up a motor then he got the risks of over propping. Until then now matter how I explained it he didn't get it. fly
