i have took my plane flying about 9 times now for 10 minutes each time and wow is it good!! every singel flight had great landings.....i was really stupid on my 9th flight.... i was flying in a caravan site but i had loooooads of space to land....i launched the super cub in the air wind picked it up straight away and just kept it into a nice big circle around me... i noticed there was gusts of wind that kept blowing my cub which i thought the next time it goes calm which it does for about a minute i will land it because i dont want to chance it!!.. so there i was descending at a rapid rate because i wanted it to land but then as i was jsut about to flare the low battery sound started from my controller!! i paniced and full throttled the plane and raised the nose so i went into a circuit again....i thought just clam down and it will be fine now...i came into land and the wind picked up and.....WHACKKKK.....straight into a caravan!!! oh my god i said...........i complety snapped the fuslage off (right at the back near the tail....the question is could i tape it back together with strong tape or is there a glue i can use? super glue?? thanks for reading the essay

you should be able to glue it back together. use 5 minute epoxy or foam safe CA. that should do the trick

epoxy would be your best bet. also when you hear the low battery sound you still have a few minuets to land so don't panic. always remember to land in to the wind, that way you dont stall and crash.

I did a nice little swan dive once and broke the fuse in the same place. I just used some 5 min epoxy and then some packing tape for some additional peace of mind. No problems since w/ some pretty rough landings.

Chris. Are you in the UK? If so, get down B&Q in the morning and get some epoxy.

Just flying w/masking tape could be a problem....i can see a post on the crash part of this forum in your future should you decide to do it!

Masking tape??? That stuff is paper with weak stick-um on it designed for later removal. You'll be sorry. Glue > + suggest carbon or bamboo skewer reinforcement. Seems everyone breaks their tail off sometime.

alot of people say epoxy then they say but reinforce it aswell.....does this mean epoxy alone could still be a weak glue? if so what could i use to reinforce it...

I also broke my tail off. Used plain old white glue and a couple of toothpicks for reinforcement. Solid as a rock now!!!

bamboo skewer......like the ones you put kebabs on at bbqs? lol ....thought id give it a go at guessing Yep, light, strong, come in different sizes for different applications. Poor man's carbon. Feel free to use carbon, in my case I did. Either will work. Cut a groove about 6" long and glued it in after the initial fix. Never broke again in spite of a LOT of other damage to the tail. Plain old gluing will work, epoxy is strong enough. Once fixed you still have the same weak area, the skinny part of the tail. As a new flier you WILL cartwheel and are very likely to break it off again. I'm suggesting a preventative reinforcement. fly

Without them the 2 halves mate. Whenever I've tried a reinforcement where something goes in 1 half and then the other has to be shoved on I can't get the parts to align. Almost, but not to my satisfaction. fly
