ok so i've done my research on tx and rx and im ready to upgrade my cub. im tired of plummeting to the ground on the stock 27 mhz setup because of interference.
i found a place where i can purchase the dx6i with an included AR6200 reciever. will this reciever fit in the cub? i was also wondering if i need to change my servos and ESC? if so, does anyone have any suggestions as to what ESC and servos to go with?
thanks!

Hi There I fly the DX6i in my SC , works like a charm , Yes Must change servos stock are 5 wire , got to change to standard 3 wire. I have HS81 servos( direct fit ) for Rudder & Elavator & HS55 Servos for Ailerons. A 20 to 25 amp ESC. I use Power Up From "Heads Up Rc " on the net www.headsuprc.com/servlet/StoreFrontYou can also run 3s 1300mAh 20C lipo with 10X6DD prop Stock motor With the above set up Makes A Great Difference. im not good with programming or intallations. i would get really confused putting this stuff in. is it just as simple as taking out the old electronics and plug in the new ESC, reciever, and servos? do you have to program the ESC, reciever or servos?
or does all this stuff coem with instructions? if not...i might have to get my LHS to do it (if they would)
thanks!

the esc, receiver, servos and for the cub, radio should be ok out of the box. it will come with instructions to tell you how to do cool things like mixing so when you turn with the rudder it will automatically feed in some elevator to keep the plane level or set how to set up dual rates so that you can have a mild or wild control over the control surfaces.
so basically you remove your old servos and rx/esc combo out of the cub, install the new servos, esc and rx and connect everything together, test it and fly.

how should i go about the installation? do the servos and ESC/reciever unplug? then, how would i put in the new ESC and AR6200 because they're separate, unlike the stock setup.
thanks!

I would recommend you take a look at the instructions www.spektrumrc.com/ProdInfo/Files/SPM6600_DX6i_Manual-LoRes.pdfI found this stuff really confusing at first. On a conversion everything except the motor must be replaced and then you have to set up the new TX. Are you sure you are being 'shot down' (interference)? I've been flying 27mHz for over a year along with a 72mHz JR TX right next to other guys with 72, 27, and 2.4. I haven't had any glitch problems with it at all. fly

not literally "shot down" but sometimes i will lose control when someone else comes in the area
its just an upgrade i'd like to make so i dont have to worry about it anymore
i'll take a look at the manual. im not worried about programming the TX, but rather the installation of the ESC, reciever, and new servos. its confusing on how to get them all to work in sync with each other
thanks!

I must be slow-going in this hobby thing, because you're flying through this forum like a brushless park 480, with a 25A ESC, a couple of HS-55s, and a 3S LIPO freshly installed on an old CUB.
