Just a warning about the stock TX (transmitter), most know, but for those who don't the low 27mhz stock TX be warned! I was flying at level flight everything is cool, when all of a sudden my Cub goes inverted and goes for a nose dive! I swear my heart skipped a couple beats. It turns out that I had radio interference, my TX and plane batteries were full. For all of you guys running on a low frequency I suggest investing in a good transmitter 72mhz is okay, but 2.4 GHz is the best. They are expensive but well worth it, I'd hate that to ever happen again. Oh yeah, my Cub is okay, a little 3m red tape and some foamboard glue did the trick... Flies better than stock... go figure

Glad it's all good. Funny you should say flies better than stock. My first cub is an old beat up, taped up, glued up, mess of a cow and it flies better than any other cub I have built to date. Including my newer BL w/ailerons.

if i was looking to add a new tx, what, in your opinon, is the best tx for...
72mhz - what tx?
2.4 ghz - what tx?
i would need to make a descion based on price. also, if i were to change my tx, what other parts would also needed to be changed?
thanks!

If you bought a different Tx you would need everything electronic except the motor. This means servo's, esc, rx.

Or looking for a warbord....lol. They are the hardest to fly generally. They require constant airspeed and inputs. Most require a pretty hot landing as well.

HA! ;D By the way Admiralev, the good, reasonable Tx would be the DX6i 6-Channel transmitter at 2.4 GHz. If you are going to get a radio get something that will last longer. Though like Mr M. said you will need to buy all other internal parts in the Cub except the motor and servos.

im not sure...maybe $100, radio and reciever. i only have one plane right now, but if i get another id like to just make it a PNP. not sure if 2.4 ghz falls in that price range

Well, you MIGHT be able to snag a 2.4GHz off of ebay, but I doubt it. I understand, usually when you get your first plane you should just practice with what you have, get good and then move on. That's how I do it!

yea i was flying 3 or 4 flights a day and i think i have a pretty good grip on the cub now. i decided just to pony up and get it...i still need some servos and an ESC though, and im headed for my homeland, the great state of california tomorrow to visit relatives and there's no room for the cub in the suitcase.
go figure...my new esky controller for FMS is scheduled to arrive tomorrow...just my luck. i guess there will be no flying for me for 17 days...
